7 Reasons Why You Should Marry a Navy SEAL

Table of Contents

Do you really want to marry a Navy SEAL?

Do you want to marry a Navy SEAL? I graduated BUD/S Class 89 and served on an East Coast team, and I have seen relationships come and go.  To begin with, any marriage is not easy.  All successful marriages require forgiving, sacrifice, and, as the Bible says, submitting to one another. For Navy SEAL wives, marriages go to another level.  Think about all the deployments around the world on a moment’s notice, all the training that takes him away from home, not to mention having nightmares about the midnight knock on the door. With all that, who can rightfully argue with love. With all the cons, the pros stand out. We cannot ignore the good.  With all that to consider, here are seven notable traits that every Navy SEAL provides:

1. Unwavering Courage and Confidence

Navy SEALs are known for their bravery and confidence in facing danger. These traits can translate to their relationships, making them a rock-solid partner who will stand by your side through life’s challenges. Their courage and confidence can inspire and motivate you to be your best self. The key here is maintaining a good relationship and becoming each other’s best confidant.

2. Elite Physical and Mental Fitness

Navy SEALs are among the fittest and most resilient individuals on the planet. They possess exceptional physical strength, endurance, and agility, which can be an asset in many areas of life. Additionally, their mental toughness and focus can help them easily navigate life’s obstacles, making them a great partner to have by your side.  As a wife, consider sharing his goal of remaining healthy, exercising, and monitoring your diet.  Stay mentally strong by reading and remaining attentive and interested. Stay updated in the community and in contact with other SEAL wives.

3. Unshakeable Loyalty and Commitment

Navy SEALs are trained to put their team above themselves, and this sense of loyalty and commitment can extend to their relationships. They understand the importance of standing by their partner and will do whatever it takes to support and protect them. This kind of loyalty does not come easy and always exacting a price. Understand that there will be moments when a family may come second whenever that phone call happens.

4. Strategic Problem-Solving and Adaptability

Navy SEALs are trained to think independently and adapt to complex, high-pressure situations. These skills can be applied to everyday life, making them valuable partners in navigating life’s challenges and finding creative solutions to problems.

5. Exceptional Leadership and Communication

Navy SEALs are trained to lead and communicate effectively in high-stress environments. These skills can translate to their relationships, making them strong and effective partners who can help guide and support you through life’s journey.

6. A Sense of Humor and Camaraderie

Navy SEALs often develop a strong sense of humor and camaraderie with their teammates, which can extend to their relationships. They know how to have fun and enjoy life’s moments, making them a great partner to share in life’s adventures.

7. A Strong Sense of Purpose and Direction

Navy SEALs are driven by a strong sense of purpose and direction, which can be inspiring and motivating. They understand the importance of setting goals and working towards them, making them a great partner to support and encourage you in your own pursuits.

In conclusion, marrying a Navy SEAL can bring unique benefits to your relationship. Their courage, physical and mental fitness, loyalty, strategic problem-solving, leadership, sense of humor, and strong sense of purpose can make them an exceptional partner and a great addition to your life. But be warned, Navy SEALs are elite, as you hear in the teams; second place is first place for losers.  All to say, if you want to be with the best, be prepared for the journey filled with peaks and valleys. But at the end of the day, I genuinely hope the journey was well worth it.
